Shivanasamudra is a small town in Mandya district of Karnataka. This is the place where the first hydro electric power station of Asia was commissioned in 1902. The Shivanasamudra Falls is on the Kaveri River after the river has
wound its way through the rocks and ravines of the Deccan Plateau and
drops off to form waterfalls.
The
Shivanasamudra Falls is basically a segmented waterfall that has split
into a number of channels. Since the Kaveri River is huge and while
flowing through its normal course comes across various rocks and
